The Client is a French Operator active globally in the energy market, both traditional and renewable, including the energy transition.


About the Role

The Role concerns a major offshore wind project in Europe currently in pre-FEED. The service provider holder will perform engineering tasks for Operations and Maintenance activities related to offshore wind projects. This position is especially focused on the Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) package.


As a minimum, you are expected to:

In the pre-project phase, prepare Operations and Maintenance (O&M) employer documents, including but not limited to:

  • Operation & Maintenance Philosophy
  • Control and SCADA philosophy
  • Security Philosophy
  • Preservation, Commissioning and Start-Up Philosophy

In the FEED and execution phases, comment in a constructive manner, including relevant proposals, and as needed all the documents issued internally or received from the manufacturers, which may impact on the future Operation and Maintenance of the projects, including but not limited to:

  • WTG and BOP design documentation: Safety Concept, Technical Concept, single line diagrams (SLD), Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), mechanical drawings, hydraulic diagrams, logic diagrams
  • Interfaces between the packages: WTG, cables, BOP, OSS (out of scope)
  • Operation and Maintenance documentation, ensuring all the key information is available and legible, including but not limited to:
  • Safety Concept in Operation
  • Evacuation and Rescue plan
  • Emergency Response plan
  • O&M manuals
  • Black Start procedure
  • Spare Part lists and specifications
  • Specific Tooling lists and specifications
  • Preventative Maintenance programs
  • Maintenance procedures for minor, major maintenance tasks, and Major Component Repairs (MCR)
  • Inspection procedures of all components, with special focus on Major Components (blades, drive train and generator)
  • Statutory inspection program and qualifications required
  • Overall and detailed schedules, with special attention on the preservation, Commissioning, Start-Up of the WTG and BOP systems


Prepare the technical specifications of:

  • The O&M Ports/bases (North Sea and Baltic)
  • The Central Control Room
  • The Central Warehouse

Comment on specifications issued by others (Marine specialists for example) to ensure the documents meet all the requirements of Operation.


Provide technical support and coordination in the preparation of the following contracts:

  • SOV and CTV l operational vessel required to support the Offshore Wind project
  • WTG Service and Maintenance Agreement
  • BOP maintenance contract(s)
  • O&M Port / Base and related services
  • And others as part of the overall O&M contracting strategy

Support the review of scopes of work and attached documents, and contractual documents in the negotiation phase, as required, identify articles at risk and make relevant proposals to make an acceptable compromise.

Prepare a set of relevant Key Performance Indicators to be used in our various O&M contracts, and the way to generate them efficiently.


About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Senior Expertise in Operation & Maintenance of Offshore Wind Turbines, acquired in several farms and/or technical contexts (WTG manufacturers, technologies, operators)
  • The ability to work closely with various stakeholders
  • Fluency in English, with French and German is seen as a benefit
