We are seeking a Project Director to lead the design and construction of major Waste-to-Energy Plant projects. This is a strategic leadership role, overseeing complex, high-value infrastructure developments from concept to commissioning.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Project Leadership - Provide overall direction and leadership for the successful delivery of waste-to-energy plant projects, including new builds and revamping initiatives.
- Define project strategy, structure, and execution plans in alignment with organisational goals.
- Act as the primary point of contact for executive stakeholders, clients, and partners.
Design & Engineering Oversight - Supervise and validate internal and external technical studies during the design phase.
- Guide the definition of project specifications and ensure alignment with regulatory and client requirements.
- Oversee procurement strategies, technical alignments, and contract negotiations in collaboration with procurement teams.
Execution & Delivery - Lead the execution phase, ensuring quality, cost, and schedule adherence.
- Monitor construction progress, manage risk and contingency plans, and resolve high-level technical or contractual issues.
- Ensure successful commissioning, testing, and final acceptance of the plant.
Team & Resource Management - Build, coordinate, and inspire multidisciplinary project teams.
- Set objectives for internal teams and external partners (architects, engineers, contractors).
- Ensure optimal resource allocation, budget preparation, and team assignments.
Commercial & Contractual Management - Maintain strong client and supplier relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and lead negotiations for amendments or dispute resolution.
- Defend the project's commercial interests and contractual integrity.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting - Track key performance indicators: budget control, resource utilisation, and schedule adherence.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Report regularly to the Executive Management and Project Governance bodies on progress, risks, and outcomes.
Profile & Requirements - Engineering degree (general or specialised in process, civil, energy, etc.).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in project leadership roles within energy, oil & gas, waste treatment, or industrial construction sectors.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale, multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Location: Based in La Seyne-sur-Mer , with travel to project sites, especially during the construction phase.
