Safety Trainer - H/F


Job Title: Safety Trainer (French-English Bilingual)

Location: Global – Various locations or site-based (FIFO/DIDO or metro-based, depending on project)

Employment Type: Full-Time / Contract

Purpose:

The Trainer / Assessor plays a pivotal role in shaping the future workforce by delivering high-quality vocational education and training (VET) that meets rigorous Australian standards. This role is responsible for training and assessing learners to achieve nationally recognized certifications under the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). By facilitating engaging training sessions, conducting competency-based assessments, and ensuring full compliance with national accreditation frameworks, the Trainer / Assessor empowers individuals to develop the essential skills and qualifications required for professional success. Working with a developing workforce will see the Trainer/Assessor encounter Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) deficiencies. The ability to structure and deliver LLN Courses to meet the workforce needs will be highly regarded.

About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Safety Trainer who is fluent in both French and English . The successful candidate will deliver accredited and non-accredited safety training to multilingual workforces across various industry sectors, with a focus on construction, mining, and industrial operations.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about workplace health and safety (WHS) and skilled in delivering engaging, culturally-aware training sessions in both languages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safety training programs in both French and English , ensuring clarity and understanding across diverse learner groups.
  • Deliver units including (but not limited to):

> Working Safely at Heights

> Enter and Work in Confined Spaces

> Provide First Aid & CPR

> Issue Work Permits

> Conduct Hazard Analysis

> Load Restraint / Load and Unload Goods/Cargo

> Manual Handling

> Low Voltage Rescue

> Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry

> Introduction to Occupational Workplace Health & Safety

  • Maintain accurate and timely training records, assessments, and compliance documentation.
  • Contribute to course development, continuous improvement, and customization to meet client needs.
  • Promote a positive safety culture through interactive and engaging learning experiences.

Key Requirements:

  • Fluent in both French and English (spoken and written); able to deliver training confidently in both languages.
  • Current qualifications/competencies in the relevant safety courses (e.g., First Aid, Confined Space, Work at Heights, etc.)
  • Demonstrated understanding of adult learning principles.
  • High-level communication, interpersonal, and cultural awareness skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team in dynamic environments.
