Position overview

We are recruiting a Photonic Characterization Engineer for our Grenoble office. You will join a dynamic R&D team to carry out tests of our Photonic Integrated Circuits (PIC) on wafers, chips or in packages. You will develop and implement optical, electronic and opto-electronic tests on automatic test stations (probers) or on benches. You ensure in-depth analysis of the data collected. You will synthesize these results and present them to the design and packaging teams. You will work in close collaboration with the different teams involved in the development and optimization of the performance of our circuits/products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement test strategies of our PICs (Photonic Integrated Circuit)
  • Perform PIC tests at the wafer level
  • Analyse and report on optical, electrical and opto-electrical test results
  • Build new test bench and be in charge of it (laser linewidth, OFDR ...)
  • Test and draw up performance reports of packages prototypes
  • Report to customers
  • Work in coordination with the design teams to develop test structures for the validation of our circuits

Qualifications & requirements

Education: Master (or equivalent) degree, Ph.D in optoelectronics, lasers, silicon photonics

Technical skills:

  • Experience with photonic testing
  • Experience using an automatic probe station
  • Knowledge of Python for data analysis and for automating measurement routines
  • Good understanding of photonic integrated circuits and lasers
  • Familiarity with RF measurement (VNA, eye diagrams) is a plus

People skills:

  • You like teamwork and can evolve in a dynamic environment with a strong interconnection between the different functions of the company
  • Good synthesis and communication skills
  • Problem solver
