This is a key role for expanding the company’s impact in critical transportation infrastructure, focusing on bespoke software and engineering service solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain deep knowledge of the French railway market and its key stakeholders.
  • Build and manage strategic business relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Identify and pursue business opportunities through networking, events, and digital outreach (e.g., LinkedIn).
  • Lead the end-to-end sales process—from lead generation and needs assessment to proposal development and deal closure.
  • Deliver customized presentations and solution demonstrations that address client-specific challenges.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, marketing, and project teams to align offerings with client needs.
  • Create and execute a go-to-market strategy to expand presence and revenue in the railway sector.
  • Regularly travel across the EU (2–6 days/month) to maintain client relationships and attend industry events.

Requirements

  • University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
  • 5–10+ years of business development, technical sales, or pre-sales experience in custom software and engineering services.
  • Prior experience in the railway industry or transportation sector strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to start operations or business lines from scratch is a plus.
  • Experience in strategic account management and financial deal structuring.
  • Familiarity with bespoke software development and technical solution selling.
  • Proficient in proposal writing and engineering project scoping.
  • Competence in financial analysis and contract negotiation.
  • Strong consultative sales approach with excellent interpersonal and networking abilities.
  • Independent, proactive, and strategic thinker with a “builder” mindset.
  • Fluent in French (C2) and English, both spoken and written.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills tailored to technical and executive audiences.
  • Home office-based role, with hybrid flexibility.
  • Willingness to travel monthly within Europe.
  • Comfortable with a dynamic, mission-driven corporate culture.

If you are passionate about software and railway technologies and eager to be part of a fast growing organisation, we welcome your application. Our client offers a stimulating work environment with opportunities for international collaboration and technical growth in a culturally rich setting.
