Area Sales Manager (distribution)

As Area Sales Manager for Distribution, you will report to the European Sales Manager Distribution. You have the sales responsibility of a dedicated portfolio within EMEA. You will promote and sell Stepan's products through distributors, in line with company standards, ensuring all sales target are met.


You will :


  • Manage, train and empower the distributors into executing the Sales Growth strategy.
  • Negotiate quarterly price supply agreement with Distributors.
  • Foster collaboration and mobilize organization to support Customer focused activities.
  • Establishes and develops close and durable relationships with distributors
  • Supports Organization and Distributors’ actions to solve problems raised by customers and allows sales development in their respective territories.
  • Leverage SalesForce platform to gather and share Customer information.
  • Deliver the Commercial Targets – Making the numbers.
  • Build a Territory Business Plan to exceed financial Targets.
  • Actively participate in new Product Introduction and market intelligence campaigns.
  • Maintains customer records (call reports/history) in SAP CRM to required standards (within 1 week) and update forecast


Your profile:


  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent in either chemistry or Business-related area.
  • 3 to 5 years ' experience in selling surfactants or chemical products is mandatory. At ease with technical related matters. Preferably know the CASE market
  • Diplomacy and experience of handling sales contracts would be an advantage.
  • Effective problem solving skills.
  • Experience of synthesising market information into future business plan
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels of the business.
  • Fluent in English, other languages spoken within their territory desirable
