Our client is a leader in offshore project delivery and services for the energy industry. They specialize in engineering, construction, and project management across the full lifecycle of offshore developments, encompassing both traditional oil and gas projects and a growing portfolio in renewable energy, such as offshore wind farms. They possess a significant fleet of specialized vessels and a worldwide presence, supporting clients in achieving their energy transition goals.


Scope

As part of a high-profile international offshore construction project, the Vessel Chartering Specialist will oversee the chartering and coordination of marine assets, ensuring full alignment with project needs, timelines, and budget constraints.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the chartering of vessels (AHTS, PSV, DSV, barges, etc.) to support offshore operations, including installation, construction, and logistical support.
  • Drafting, negotiating, and executing charter party agreements, in compliance with internal standards and legal requirements.
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders (marine operations, legal, insurance, procurement) and external parties (shipowners, brokers, agents) to align vessel operations with project objectives.
  • Monitoring vessel performance, technical suitability, and HSE compliance during operations.
  • Ensuring timely mobilization, demobilization, and cost control of chartered vessels.
  • Contributing to the vessel strategy for the project, including availability analysis, market intelligence, and risk mitigation.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in vessel chartering, marine logistics, or offshore operations, preferably in the oil & gas or subsea industry.
  • Solid understanding of charter party types, vessel specifications, and marine regulations (including IMCA, SOLAS, MARPOL).
  • Experience in contract negotiation, cost management, and operational follow-up.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) is mandatory; knowledge of another European language is an asset.
  • Familiarity with project-driven environments and dynamic planning constraints is highly valued.
