Senior Key Account Manager


Our client


A global organization within the active pharmaceutical ingredients sector is seeking an experienced Key Account Manager to lead and develop a strategic relationship with a major multinational pharmaceutical client.


This person is responsible for business development across the account, with a strong focus on R&D collaboration and long-term strategic initiatives to increase market share.



Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a 3-year strategic account plan focused on sales growth, opportunity pipeline, stakeholder relationships, and collaborative projects
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key R&D personnel at the client organization
  • Identify market trends, risks, and customer insights to guide future business strategies
  • Engage in regular international travel to maintain contact with key stakeholders
  • Expand the opportunity pipeline by increasing the number of clinical programs involving company materials
  • Collaborate with regional commercial teams to grow revenue and profitability within the account
  • Work closely with internal R&D and technical teams to align innovation efforts with client needs
  • Build internal and external senior-level relationships to ensure successful account growth and alignment with organizational objectives



Requirements

  • Proven background in key account management and/or business development within specialty chemicals, ingredients, or related sectors serving the pharmaceutical industry is a must
  • Strategic mindset and ability to build long-term partnerships with senior-level stakeholders
  • Familiarity with R&D and innovation processes relevant to pharmaceutical product development
  • Fluency in French is a plus
  • Experience managing global accounts and leading cross-functional collaboration
  • High degree of integrity and ability to represent company values externally
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultural and functional boundaries
  • Technical knowledge in vaccines, especially relating to lipids and adjuvants, is desirable
