What You'll Do
As a Senior IT Consultant for Core Banking Systems, you will help clients navigate the complexities of transforming their banking technology landscapes. You will collaborate on projects that involve modernizing core banking systems (CBS) , your expertise will enable clients to align their IT systems with business goals by conducting a thorough study of existing technology solutions and constructing potential migration paths based on business objectives, cost, and ROI.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyzing & Advising
- Collaborating with business and IT teams to deeply understand core banking processes, requirements, and system functionalities, leveraging your experience as a functional analyst or product expert.
- Evaluating and analyzing the architecture and workflows of large-scale core banking systems (CBS) to identify pain points and opportunities for improvement.
- Advising on solutions and best practices for designing, configuring, and optimizing complex CBS platforms, including Temenos, Finacle, or Flexcube.
- Mapping functional requirements to technical solutions, bridging the gap between business needs and IT capabilities, particularly in areas like compliance (AML, KYC) and risk management.
Designing & Building
- Designing scalable, user-centric banking solutions with a focus on delivering tangible results in modernization, compliance, and risk management.
- Driving the configuration, customization, and deployment of CBS components to meet operational and business needs.
- Leading the development of integration frameworks for CBS with third-party platforms such as AML tools, ERP systems, and digital banking applications.
- Engaging in hands-on prototyping, modeling, and iterative design to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions that align with modern banking standards.
- Leading & Collaborating
- Guiding transformation projects as a "builder," using a hands-on approach to bring innovative banking system solutions to life.
- Partnering with cross-functional teams—including developers, engineers, and business stakeholders—to drive end-to-end delivery of banking system projects.
- Mentoring client teams to strengthen their expertise in managing and enhancing large banking systems, ensuring sustainable change.
- Facilitating workshops and design sessions with client teams to align on solutions and foster a collaborative problem-solving culture.
Collaborating & Coaching
- Working with cross-functional client teams to strengthen their understanding of CBS platforms, market solutions, and best practices.
- Guiding teams through the implementation of large-scale IT transformation projects, ensuring delivery excellence and business alignment.
What You'll Bring
- [3-6 years] of experience in core banking systems (CBS) , financial technology, or IT transformation projects within a universal bank or a FI vendor.
- Familiarity with mainframe banking systems and expertise in market-leading CBS platforms (e.g., Temenos, Finacle, Flexcube).
- Proven ability to lead banking system transformation projects, combining technical and functional insights (e.g: on banking product, data and regulatory topics)
- Strong understanding of universal banking IT ecosystems, including client/account , compliance frameworks (AML, KYC) and risk management systems.
- Knowledge of system architecture and design for banking IT modernization, including regulatory compliance and system scalability.
- Degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across technical and business teams.
