A lead who codes, on both sides. A learning platform built from scratch, a team of three developers to grow, immediate start in La Défense.

Context

Our client, a European group in professional publishing and training, is building a new custom learning experience platform (LXP) for its own customers. The platform builds on the APIs of an existing LMS.

You join a five-person product team: a PO, a business referent, two developers, and you. You work directly with the PO and with the cross-functional teams: architecture, security, infrastructure, other front-end teams.

The role

• Own the technical vision of the product: architecture, performance, maintainability
• Drive the structuring technical choices and scope the MVP with the PO
• Code in React and Java / Spring Boot. This is a hands-on lead role
• Identify and manage technical debt
• Grow the two developers on the team

What we are really looking for

A real fullstack. React and Java at the same level, on the same projects, recently. If your last front-end and back-end assignments are three years apart, this is not the right role.

A real lead. Not a title: a team you have actually led, and technical decisions you have carried without formal authority.

Profile

• 8 to 10+ years in web development, master's degree or equivalent
• Expert React, expert Java, recent Spring Boot in production
• TypeScript, CI/CD (Git, Jenkins), hands-on use of coding assistants (Copilot, Claude)
• Nice to have: micro front-ends, Tanstack, learning domain, xAPI or LMS APIs

Terms

• La Défense (Paris area), 3 days on site per week, remote the rest
• Based in the Paris region (Île-de-France)
• Freelance or permanent with Abbeal, both are open
