The Head of Operations leads a broad and strategic scope including Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, General Services & EHS, Health and Safety, PLCM Engineering, Supply Chain, and the Sartorius Operations School, ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective operations aligned with site and network priorities.At our Aubagne site, a large-scale manufacturing environment of approximately 1,200 employees, this role offers the opportunity to drive operational excellence and shape high-performance, future-ready operations within a complex and dynamic setting.Grow with us – Your ResponsibilitiesYou oversee the availability and efficient use of materials, labor, and equipment to deliver production plans and minimize downtime across multiple production areas, technologies, and shiftsYou monitor site performance metrics, escalate risks, and lead cross-functional corrective actions to meet production targets while ensuring safety, quality, and cost efficiency in line with defined KPIsYou ensure compliance with EHS, GMP (if applicable), and regulatory standards across complex operations, maintaining audit readiness and driving timely resolution of findingsYou lead the integration of new technologies and process improvements, aligning initiatives with network strategy and ensuring effective change management across teamsYou foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement, maintaining strong engagement on the shop floor and across organizational layersWhat will convince usYou hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Industrial Technology, or a related field; an advanced degree is considered a plusYou bring extensive experience in regulated manufacturing operations, preferably in biopharma or biotech, including leadership of large teams and complex multi-line operationsYou demonstrate strong expertise in GMP (if applicable), EHS, cost control, and production planning within high-complexity environmentsYou show proven ability to lead through multiple organizational layers, manage large cross-functional teams, and foster a culture of accountability and performanceYou apply strong problem-solving and communication skills, including the ability to manage complex variance analysis, root cause investigations, and cross-functional resolutionYou leverage data effectively for decision-making and performance trackingYou communicate fluently in English; proficiency in the local site language is requiredAbout Sartorius Sartorius is part of the solution in the fight against cancer, dementia, and many other diseases.
