They are Integrity, Teamwork, Passion for Winning, Ownership Leadership.Position Title: Controlling Manager (Commercial Finance)Location: Colombes 92700, Paris, FranceReports to: Senior Finance Manager, France-BeneluxJob Summary: The Controlling Manager is a key finance business partner to the Commercial organization (Sales Marketing), responsible for driving financial performance and supporting strategic decision-making in the France-Benelux business.This role combines commercial finance business partnering and financial planning analysis, with a strong focus on profitability, growth, and optimization.Responsibilities:Performance Management ReportingLead the monthly closing for a channel or segment, including variance analysis vs. budget/forecast/prior yearDeliver high-quality PL reporting and business insights to leadershipTrack key KPIs (sales, margin, mix, etc.) and drive action plansFinancial Planning ForecastingSupport Sales with scenario planning and financial modelingProvide clear visibility on key commercial drivers and risks/opportunitiesEnsure alignment of commercial initiatives with financial targetsCommercial Finance Business PartneringSupport pricing, promotions, and customer negotiations through financial analysisValidate business cases and ensure return on investment for commercial initiativesChallenge decisions and propose actions to improve profitability and growthFinancial Control ComplianceMonitor commercial accruals (e.g., trade promotions, rebates) and provisionsSupport balance sheet ownership related to commercial activitiesGuarantee compliance with Group policies and audit requirementsProcess Improvement ToolsDrive improvements in forecasting accuracy, reporting efficiency, and data qualityLeverage tools such as Power BI, SAP, and business warehouse AFO (Analysis for Office)Contribute to finance transformation and harmonization initiativesTeam Leadership Key StakeholdersManage and develop 1 direct report (controller)Ensure strong coordination with local Finance team members Senior Finance ManagerWork closely with Key Account Managers, National Account Managers, Sales Directors, Supply Chain, Finance Shared Service Centre (Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable)Provide analysis to regional FPA and global segments leads as requiredKey Qualifications:7+ years in Controlling / Commercial FinanceStrong exposure to FMCG / retail / commercial environmentsStrong analytical skillsAdvanced user in Excel and financial systems (SAP, AFO, Power BI)Ability to translate numbers into business insights and actionsHigh level of business acumen and influencing skillsStrong communicator – able to interact with senior stakeholders non-FinanceFluent in English French, both oral and writtenHands-on, proactive, and results-drivenStrong business partner with a challenging but constructive mindsetComfortable in a fast-paced, transforming environmentNewell Brands (NYSE: NWL) is a leading global consumer goods company with a strong portfolio of well-known brands, including Paper Mate, Sharpie, Dymo, EXPO, Parker, Elmer’s, Coleman, Marmot, Oster, Sunbeam, FoodSaver, Mr. Coffee, Rubbermaid Commercial Products, Graco, Baby Jogger, NUK, Calphalon, Rubbermaid, Contigo, and Yankee Candle.
