Senior Electronic EngineerFull-timeIn-personAt Interstellar Lab, our mission is to build a future full of life, on Earth and beyond. We believe in a world where technology enables humans to live in harmony with nature, where biodiversity thrives and expands, and where terrestrial life becomes multi-planetary.To build this future, we design autonomous biospheric systems to grow plants with precision, on Earth and in Space. Our AI-powered BioPods and BioCapsules leverage biosciences to reproduce and optimize growth conditions for a wide variety of high-value plants. On Earth, we pioneer molecular and biofarming, boosting the production of metabolites and bioactive compounds while offering sustainable, traceable, and high-quality natural ingredients to the beauty, fragrance, pharmaceutical, and nutraceutical industries. In space, we collaborate with agencies and private companies to develop biofarming units that advance life science research in microgravity and lay the foundation for future biofactories in space, enabling innovative terrestrial applications and long-duration space missions.About the RoleAs Senior Electronic Engineer, you will own the design, development, and validation of Interstellar Lab’s electronic systems. You will work closely with mechanical and embedded software engineers to create reliable, high-performance electronics supporting automation, control, and monitoring of our biospheric systems. Some projects will involve space-rated hardware, requiring a strong balance between creativity, precision, and compliance with aerospace standards.ResponsibilitiesDesign and layout electronic schematics and PCBs (KiCad or Altium)Select components, define stackups, and ensure manufacturability and serviceabilityLead mechanical and electrical integration with product and systems teamsCollaborate with suppliers for PCB fabrication, assembly, and production follow-upPlan and implement EMC mitigation and reliability strategies (ESD, surge, derating)Conduct board bring-up, debugging, and validation testing using standard lab toolsCreate test plans, validation documentation, and track issue resolutionSupport development of embedded test firmware in collaboration with software teamsProfile / Qualifications6+ years of experience in electronic design for industrial, aerospace, or consumer productsProficiency in schematic design, PCB layout, and DFM/DFT principlesExperience with EMC/EMI mitigation and validation testingFamiliarity with microcontrollers (STM32 or similar) and communication buses (RS-485, I2C, SPI)Experience managing EMS/SMT suppliers and prototype productionExposure to SSP 57000 requirements or similar aerospace standards is a plusStrong analytical, documentation, and troubleshooting skillsFluent in English, French is a plusEqual OpportunityInterstellar Lab is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
