About NoShortcuts Studio

NoShortcuts Studio is an independent game studio currently expanding its development team for an ambitious video game project.

We are looking for talented and passionate 3D Artists who want to take an active role in building a game from the ground up and contribute directly to its visual identity.

This is a remote, international collaboration. Applications are welcome from anywhere in the world.

Profiles we are looking for

We are currently interested in several types of 3D artists, including:

  • 3D Character Artists
  • 3D Environment Artists
  • Building / Architecture Artists
  • Prop Artists
  • Hard Surface Artists
  • Level Artists
  • Artists comfortable creating modular environment kits
  • Artists capable of taking assets from concept to game-ready implementation

You do not need to cover every discipline. We are looking for specialists as well as versatile artists.

Responsibilities

Depending on your specialization, you may work on:

  • Creating game-ready characters
  • Creating buildings, interiors and architectural assets
  • Designing and producing environments
  • Creating modular environment kits
  • Modeling props and world assets
  • UV mapping and texturing
  • Optimizing assets for real-time rendering
  • Integrating assets into the game engine
  • Working closely with developers and other artists
  • Contributing to the artistic direction and visual consistency of the project
  • Iterating on assets based on gameplay and technical requirements

What we are looking for

We value skills, creativity and reliability more than diplomas.

You may be a good fit if you:

  • Have experience with Blender, Maya, 3ds Max or similar software
  • Understand game-ready 3D workflows
  • Have knowledge of topology, UVs, materials and texturing
  • Understand optimization for real-time games
  • Can work independently and communicate with a remote team
  • Are comfortable receiving and implementing feedback
  • Care about quality and attention to detail
  • Have a portfolio showing your work

Experience with game engines is appreciated but not mandatory for every position.

Junior, intermediate and experienced artists may apply. What matters most is the quality of your work and your ability to contribute to the project.

Compensation

Important: this is currently a revenue-share collaboration.

This position does not currently include a fixed salary or upfront payment.

Team members joining under this model participate in the commercial success of the project through an agreed revenue-sharing arrangement.

The exact terms, responsibilities and revenue-share conditions are discussed individually and formalized before collaboration begins.

Our objective is to build a long-term team and transition toward paid opportunities as the studio and its projects generate revenue or secure additional funding.

Please apply only if you are comfortable with this model.

Why join us?

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Work directly on a real commercial game project
  • Have meaningful creative input
  • Help define the visual identity of the game
  • Build portfolio-quality production work
  • Collaborate remotely with an international team
  • Take ownership of assets and features rather than working on isolated exercises
  • Grow with the studio as the project develops

We are not looking for people to simply execute tasks.

We are looking for artists who want to help build something.

Portfolio required.

Remote worldwide.

French and English speakers are both welcome.
