Partner – CFO Advisory & Finance TransformationLocation: Greater Paris Region Sector: Consulting – CFO Advisory, Finance TransformationWe are working with a major international professional services organisation on the appointment of a senior Partner – CFO Advisory & Finance Transformation to help develop and grow its Finance Transformation capability in France.The organisation operates through a highly international model, with teams collaborating across multiple countries and significant cross-border client activity. It is currently experiencing strong demand for CFO Advisory and Finance Transformation services and sees this area as an important strategic growth priority.The firm is therefore looking for a senior consulting leader who combines strong Finance Transformation expertise with commercial credibility and the ambition to build and grow a business.The OpportunityThe successful Partner will take a senior leadership role across areas including:CFO AdvisoryFinance TransformationFinance Operating Model design and transformationFinance function effectivenessPerformance managementFinancial planning, budgeting and forecastingManagement reportingPlanning and decision-support processesFinance process optimisationDigital FinanceEPM strategy and technology-enabled transformationTransformation programme design and implementationThe individual does not need to be a technical EPM implementation specialist.The firm works with specialist technology and implementation partners where appropriate. However, candidates should ideally have a strong understanding of the EPM landscape and how platforms such as Anaplan, OneStream, Oracle and SAP can support wider Finance Transformation programmes.The emphasis is on being able to advise CFOs on the broader transformation agenda, identify opportunities and lead complex programmes rather than personally delivering technical implementations.Building the PracticeThis is not simply a delivery leadership position.The firm is looking for someone with strong commercial experience who can develop senior CFO relationships, identify opportunities and help build the Finance Transformation proposition.There is already significant client demand and a substantial international platform to leverage, but the successful Partner will have considerable freedom to influence:Which areas of CFO Advisory the firm prioritisesHow the Finance Transformation proposition developsHow the firm takes its capabilities to marketWhich strategic technology partnerships it leveragesHow the French practice collaborates with teams internationallyHow the team and capability are built over timeFor someone who wants to put their stamp on a growing practice, rather than simply inherit an established structure, this represents a particularly interesting opportunity.A Global Operating ModelOne of the major attractions of the opportunity is the firm's international operating model.The successful Partner will work with colleagues and clients across multiple countries, with opportunities to collaborate on major international assignments and leverage expertise from across the global organisation.The environment is dynamic, entrepreneurial and relatively flat, giving senior leaders significant access to decision-makers and the ability to influence how the business develops.The firm is looking for someone with a growth mindset, who enjoys building businesses, is prepared to work hard and wants to operate in an ambitious international environment.The ProfileCandidates should ideally bring:Significant experience in CFO Advisory and/or Finance TransformationStrong understanding of the CFO agenda and the challenges facing modern finance functionsExperience advising CFOs and other senior finance executivesStrong commercial experience and evidence of developing client relationships and generating consulting opportunitiesExperience leading complex Finance Transformation programmesGood knowledge of the EPM ecosystem, without necessarily being a technical implementation specialistThe credibility to operate at Partner level with major organisationsAn entrepreneurial and growth-oriented mindsetAn interest in building and developing a practice rather than purely managing an existing portfolioThe ability and willingness to work internationallyCandidates will currently be working within a consulting or professional services firm at Partner, Managing Director, Director or equivalent senior level.If you are interested please send your profile to paul.heslop@merittas.com
