function. Job Summary As a Director, Solutions Engineering you will
utilize strong management and technical competencies to set
objectives and develop strategies for NetApp Solution Engineering
organization across France. This high-visibility position provides
leadership and management oversight to SE skills development, and
Business Unit coordination. You develop long-term strategies and
shorter-term plans to meet performance goals. You must be extremely
results driven, customer focused, technologically savvy, and
skilled at building internal relationships and external
partnerships. Essential Functions Achieve organizational goals
through collaboration and negotiation across a diverse set of peer
leaders Create an SE development strategy by assembling the input
of various SE leaders as well as BU leadership and senior sales
leadership Provide management oversight to Solutions Engineers
across the world to drive all pertinent issues related to strategy
and goal attainment. Participate in strategic planning sessions
with the SE Vice Presidents and sales management team on a
quarterly and annual basis. Communicate Corporate strategy to
employees within your function. Plan and direct activities
including planning and implementing training curricula, product
launch activities, and employee development and retention
initiatives. Establish short-term and long-term goals and
performance metrics in line with corporate objectives. Perform
liaison tasks with senior product leadership in the Business Units
to ensure alignment and foster communication Build and manage a
regular cadence of communication to the product business units to
transfer customer requirements and to provide field feedback on
current products and roadmap plans Foster inter-area communication
to ensure consistency of SE processes and the promotion of best
practice approaches Develop budgets for approval and assure
adherence once budget is approved. Act as coach, mentor and
educator to SE Managers and District Managers across the business.
Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure departmental
goals are met. Assume responsibility for result, including costs,
methods and staffing. Education Excellent verbal and written
communications skills, including presentation skills. Excellent
relationship building and negotiating skills. Ability to work
collaboratively with functional peers across functions including
Marketing, Sales, Sales Operations, Professional Services, Customer
Support, and Product Development. Strong understanding of storage
technologies and competitive offerings in the marketplace. Ability
to convey and analyse information clearly as needed to help
customer make buying decisions. An excellent understanding how
technology products and solutions solve business problems.
Demonstrated experience working with Sales organizations and
technical teams. Prior experience with developing budgets and
controlling costs. A demonstrated ability to manage professional
