Senior Pricing Actuary – Third Party Lines


Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of pricing strategies across Third Party Lines (Casualty, Financial Lines, Cyber) within Continental Europe.
  • Act as the subject matter expert, partnering closely with underwriting teams to shape risk selection, pricing adequacy, and portfolio steering.
  • Own and continuously enhance pricing models, tools, and methodologies tailored to the specific dynamics of Third Party risks.
  • Provide technical pricing support on large and complex accounts, including individual risk assessments and deal reviews.
  • Deliver portfolio analytics (profitability, volatility, rate adequacy) and provide actionable recommendations to optimize performance.
  • Establish and monitor key pricing KPIs, including rate change, loss ratio performance, and exposure trends by line of business and geography.
  • Collaborate with underwriting leadership to align pricing strategy with broader business objectives and growth plans.
  • Work closely with reserving, capital modelling, and risk management teams to ensure consistency of actuarial assumptions and insights.
  • Support business planning and forecasting processes, contributing to strategic decision-making across Third Party Lines.
  • Identify emerging trends and risks in Casualty, Financial Lines, and Cyber markets, incorporating them into pricing frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance and external regulatory requirements.
  • Promote best practices and knowledge sharing across the pricing function and broader organization.

Requirements

  • Qualified actuary (or equivalent) with significant experience in general insurance pricing.
  • Strong, demonstrable expertise in Casualty, Financial Lines, and Cyber insurance is essential.
  • Extensive experience in pricing within European insurance markets, ideally in a leadership or senior technical role.
  • Proven ability to influence underwriting strategy and drive portfolio profitability.
  • Proficiency in English is mandatory (both written and spoken). Additional European languages are advantageous but not required.
  • Advanced analytical and modelling capabilities (e.g., R, Python, SQL, or similar tools).
  • Deep understanding of actuarial pricing techniques, including exposure-based and experience-based methods.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate analytics into business decisions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage at senior levels.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a multi-country, matrixed organization.
