Transport Planning Manager (Mid-Mile Network) – France

Location - Paris/Hybrid (17th arrondissement)

Salary - Up to €95,000 + benefits

We're recruiting on behalf of a fast-scaling e-commerce and logistics business for a Transport Planning Manager to own the design and optimisation of their middle mile network, making sure parcels move between hubs and depots in the fastest, most cost effective way possible.

This is a role for someone who thinks in networks: you'll build both the short term fixes and the long term strategy, leading a team focused on dynamic route planning and working closely with forecasting and operations to keep parcel flow smooth and continuous.

What you'll be doing as Transport Planning Manager / Transportation Planning Manager:

• Designing and optimising the middle mile transport network, balancing cost, speed and reliability
• Producing high quality transport plans on a daily and weekly basis that operations and forecasting teams can actually work to
• Identifying and delivering cost savings through lane consolidation and strategic carrier negotiations
• Partnering with S&OP teams to ensure network capacity supports forecasted volumes, especially through peak
• Driving continuous improvement in vehicle utilisation and building contingency plans that protect business continuity
• Improving sustainability performance by reducing kilometres driven and diversifying third party fleets
• Monitoring performance against plan and taking immediate action to mitigate risk before it recurs
• Identifying automation opportunities to improve planning performance, all while keeping the operation compliant with relevant laws and regulations

What you'll bring to the position of Transport Planning Manager / Transportation Planning Manager:

• 5+ years of transport planning management experience, including at least two years in cross border transport operations
• A clear communicator, written and verbal, comfortable presenting plans to stakeholders at all levels
• Highly numerate, with the ability to zoom out to the big picture without losing sight of the detail
• Strong relationship builder across operations, forecasting and commercial teams
• Commercially savvy, with a genuine appetite to challenge the status quo rather than just maintain it
