Interim Lawyer – Commercial & Copyright (12-Month Contract) | Leading International Technology Company | Paris

The Role

A leading international technology company is looking for an interim lawyer to join its Paris legal team, acting as an operational buffer for a fast-moving commercial partnerships function. You'll manage high-volume commercial relationships and existing legal workstreams, while supporting the roll-out of new AI related partnership programmes — all within strict internal guardrails around dominance and separation of commercial negotiation.

Responsibilities

• Manage existing operational legal workstreams end-to-end as an independent contributor
• Support the development and roll-out of new commercial programmes, including emerging technology partnership pilots
• Draft and negotiate commercial and copyright contracts
• Conduct legal analyses and provide day-to-day support to the core French legal team
• Operate within strict compliance guardrails on dominance and separation of legal/commercial negotiation functions
• Anticipate and flag legal risk while supporting business objectives in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment
• Communicate clearly and proactively across legal and commercial stakeholders

Candidate Profile

• Qualified lawyer under French law strongly preferred; professional working proficiency in French required at minimum
• Strong commercial law background with hands-on contract drafting and negotiation experience (commercial and copyright)
• Risk and compliance experience preferred; deep subject-matter specialism not required — this is an operational, execution-focused role
• Comfortable as an independent contributor managing concrete projects end-to-end — a mid-level, hands-on profile
• Proactive, strategic mindset with excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
• Able to work on-site in Paris 3 days/week
