Senior Electrical Engineer (Data Centres)

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you’ll be at the helm of technically complex, high‑value projects across France and mainland Europe, working with some of the most influential clients in the sector. You’ll support the electrical design and delivery of hyperscale and colocation data centres, ensuring resilience, efficiency, and compliance with French and European standards. From concept design through to commissioning, you’ll oversee every technical detail, manage client expectations, and guide multidisciplinary teams to success.

What’s in It For You

• Project Leadership: Own the electrical scope of large‑scale data centre projects, managing design programmes, deliverables, and technical quality across multiple workstreams in France and Europe.
• Client Engagement: Act as the primary technical contact for clients, providing strategic input, design assurance, and value engineering throughout the project lifecycle.
• Design Excellence: Develop and review detailed electrical designs including power distribution, MV/LV systems, UPS, generators, lighting, earthing and lightning protection systems, ensuring alignment with Uptime Institute Tier standards, IEC standards, and French regulations.
• Team Development: Mentor engineers, delegate responsibilities effectively, and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Cross‑Disciplinary Coordination: Work closely with mechanical, structural, and architectural teams to ensure integrated design solutions that meet performance, sustainability, and cost objectives.
• Quality & Compliance: Ensure all designs meet applicable French and European codes and standards, including NF, EN, IEC, ISO, and local authority regulations.

Essential Skills

• Extensive experience in electrical building services design, ideally within mission‑critical environments such as data centres, healthcare, or high‑tech industrial facilities.
• Strong understanding of power systems, electrical distribution, protection coordination, and energy efficiency strategies.
• Familiarity with design tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, ETAP, Dialux, or similar electrical analysis and modelling software.
• Proven ability to lead complex consultancy projects and multidisciplinary teams in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and a client‑focused mindset, with the ability to interface confidently with international stakeholders.
• A recognised engineering qualification (Diplôme d’Ingénieur or Master’s degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering); professional registration (e.g. Ingénieur diplômé / working towards certification) is advantageous.
