Competition Lawyer

Our client, a leading consumer-facing international business, is seeking a commercially astute Competition Lawyer to join its growing legal team. This is a rare opportunity to move into a dynamic, fast-paced B2C environment where competition law is central to strategic decision-making.

The Role

Working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, you will play a key role in navigating complex competition law issues across multiple European markets. This position offers significant exposure to high-impact projects and business-critical decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on EU competition law, with a focus on abuse of dominance and horizontal and vertical agreements
• Support M&A activity, including competition risk analysis, merger control processes, and integration planning
• Develop and implement pragmatic, business-oriented compliance programmes tailored to a consumer-facing environment
• Advise on distribution strategies, pricing, partnerships, and market conduct in a B2C context
• Engage with external counsel and competition authorities where required

Candidate profile

• Qualified lawyer (10 years PQE+) with strong experience in EU competition law, gained in private practice and in-house
• Demonstrated expertise in abuse of dominance and agreements, ideally within a consumer-facing (B2C) business
• Experience supporting M&A transactions from a competition perspective
• Track record of designing and embedding compliance frameworks
• Commercially focused, with the ability to balance legal risk and business objectives
• Confident communicator, capable of influencing senior stakeholders
