Key Account Manager – Ruminants | France


Company Overview

Our client is a well-established global player within animal nutrition and health, recognised for delivering science-led nutritional solutions across the livestock sector. The business works closely with feed manufacturers, distributors, nutritionists, veterinarians, and producers to improve animal performance, health, and profitability through innovative feed additive and nutritional technologies.


As part of continued growth within the ruminant division, they are looking to appoint a commercially driven Key Account Manager to support and expand their presence across France.


The Opportunity

This role is focused on developing and managing key commercial relationships within the French dairy and ruminant sector. The successful candidate will work closely with feed mills, feed manufacturers, distributors, nutritionists, and large dairy operations to drive business growth and strengthen long-term partnerships.


The position combines technical nutritional understanding with a strong commercial and customer-facing focus.


Key Responsibilities

Account Management

  • Manage and develop relationships with key feed manufacturers, distributors, nutritionists, and dairy customers across France.
  • Provide technical-commercial support to customers regarding ruminant nutrition and feed additive solutions.
  • Identify and develop new commercial opportunities within the French ruminant market.
  • Expand relationships with feed mills, feed companies, and distribution partners.
  • Support market penetration of nutritional and feed additive solutions across the dairy sector.
  • Represent the business at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends within the ruminant nutrition sector.
  • Collaborate with internal technical and commercial teams to support strategic growth initiatives.


Candidate Profile

Experience & Background

  • Minimum 4 years of post-graduate experience within animal nutrition, animal health, or the ruminant feed sector.
  • Strong knowledge of dairy cattle nutrition and production systems.
  • Previous experience working with:
  • Feed mills
  • Feed manufacturers
  • Dairy producers
  • Nutritionists
  • Distribution networks
  • Commercial and/or technical-commercial experience within ruminants is essential.
  • Experience within feed additives, specialty nutrition, premix, or related nutritional solutions is highly desirable.


Education

  • Degree in Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, Veterinary Medicine, or related field.


Key Competencies

  • Strong relationship-building and account management skills.
  • Comfortable operating in a B2B commercial environment.
  • Ability to influence technical and commercial stakeholders.
  • Understanding of customer decision-making processes within the feed and dairy sectors.
  • Good understanding of dairy cattle nutrition and feeding strategies.
  • Ability to discuss nutritional concepts confidently with customers and technical teams.
  • Comfortable delivering presentations and technical support.

  • Self-motivated and commercially driven.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Well organised with the ability to manage a regional territory independently.
  • Passion for animal nutrition and dairy production.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across France.
