About us
Young Actors Theater Strasbourg (YATS) is a non-profit organization established in 2013 to provide theater workshops and productions for young people aged 9 to 19 in the Strasbourg area. Inspired by the enriching impact of theater, YATS helps young individuals gain confidence, creativity, and collaborative skills essential for their future endeavors, whether in theater or other careers. The organization, run by dedicated volunteers including parents, friends, and theater professionals, is modeled after the American high school theater experience. YATS relies on donations, sponsorships, ticket sales, and membership fees to fund performance rights, theater rental, costumes, sound and lighting, and set design.
Role Description
The Backstage Props Manager is responsible for the organization, maintenance, and coordination of props required for each of YATS' productions, with a particular focus on our Fall show. You will help with the sourcing, creating, or procuring of props, to ensure they are available and in good condition for rehearsals and performances. You will collaborate closely with production team to ensure props align with the artistic vision and production schedule. You will also ensure that our Young Actors handle each prop with care. Additionally, managing props' spend and supervising storage post-production will be key responsibilities. Although this is a part-time position, you must be available for all rehearsals in the run up to our Fall production, including evenings, some weekends, and the 5-day tech week, as well as each of the performances. Your collaboration may be required for other performances throughout the year, such as our Spring Workshop show and our Summer Alumni production.
