Planning Engineer – FEED Project (Energy Sector)
Position Overview
We are currently looking for a Planning Engineer to support a major FEED project in the energy sector.
The consultant will work under the supervision of the Lead Planner and will be responsible for developing, updating and monitoring project schedules while ensuring proper coordination between engineering, procurement and construction activities.
The position may also involve supporting multiple projects depending on workload.
Project: Verso Dezir – FEED
Phase Sector: Energy / Industrial / Petrochemical / Circular Economy
Client environment: Major EPC contractor Location Villeurbanne (Lyon area), France
Start Date Mid-March 2026
Duration Until the end of October 2026, with possible extension.
Responsibilities
• Update and maintain the Level 3 FEED master schedule using Primavera P6
• Support the development of the overall EPC project schedule
• Perform resource loading and schedule analysis using Earned Value Management methodology
• Prepare explanatory notes related to: o planning assumptions o identification of interfaces o resource allocation o critical path analysis o risks and opportunities
• Monitor project progress and schedule performance
• Perform forecasting and scenario analysis
• Identify potential delays and propose preventive or corrective actions
• Ensure proper schedule interface management between engineering, procurement, works contracts and construction
• Contribute to the preparation of internal and external project reports
• Participate in internal progress meetings and meetings with the client Required Profile Experience • Minimum 5 years of experience as Planning Engineer / Project Planner
• Experience on engineering, industrial or energy projects
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Energy, Chemical or Industrial projects is strongly preferred Technical Skills
• Strong expertise with Primavera P6 (mandatory)
• Knowledge of MS Project
• Good command of Excel and Office tools
• Experience with collaborative tools such as: o Microsoft Teams o SharePoint o Power BI
