EGB Core Trader

Eton Clarke have partnered up with a Global Investment Bank on the search for a Core European Government Bond (EGB) Trader as part of a strategically important build out within its rates franchise.

This role offers the opportunity to sit at the heart of a sophisticated trading platform, combining principal risk-taking with meaningful involvement in the evolution of electronic and low-touch trading capabilities.

Role

As a Core EGB Trader, you will play a key role in driving liquidity, pricing, and execution across European Government Bonds, while helping shape the future trading infrastructure of the desk.

Key Responsibilities

• • Take principal risk in European Government Bonds, supporting both high-touch client execution and scalable low-touch/e-trading flows
  • Contribute to the design, build, and optimisation of pricing tools and electronic trading infrastructure, working closely with technology and quantitative teams
  • Partner with global sales and trading teams to facilitate cross-border flows and support international investor demand
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Risk, Compliance, IT, and Treasury to ensure a robust, well-governed trading environment
  • Support the broader rates platform as it continues to integrate cash and derivatives into a more unified, strategic offering

About You

• • Proven experience trading EGBs or closely related fixed income products
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a trading role within a bank or comparable institution
  • Demonstrable involvement in platform development, infrastructure enhancement, or electronic trading initiatives
  • Strong understanding of cross-border flows and international client coverage
  • Collaborative, commercially minded, and focused on building sustainable revenue over the long term
